I recently had to uninstall NIS2010 (won't go into reasons) from my laptop-i used the programs uninstaller then ran Norton removal tool a couple of times to be sure.
What i have noticed now that i have reinstalled and updated NIS2010 is that it doesn't quite behave in the same way as before.
With my previous installation NIS would attempt a full system scan whenever the laptop was idle-now this never occurs-the only processes that have run when idle are pulse /community watch and insight.
I have all settings on default and i always run my laptop on mains so it is not due to the power save feature of Norton.
Before when i left my computer for a while i would often see the small message box above the taskbar notification area informing the user that Noron is performing background tasks-since reinstall last week i never see this anymore.
