Behaviour base protetion failling on its own.....N360 not starting after updating

Today after switching on the PC all errors have returned :rage:

  • Autofix, but without reference to SONAR
  • Message about missing behavior-based protection
  • Manually turning off behavior-based protection does not generate an alarm
  • No N360 submenus in the taskbar or in the program structure.
  • The scan button is not functional in the application.

Logging out and back in to the Microsoft account (Windows-Hello) fixes the contextmenu- and Scanbutton-Error

Hello community,

3 days ago I finally managed to use the offline installer to resolve the problems with Autofix, behavior-based protection notification and its non-functioning switch. I havenā€™t received any error messages about this for 3 days now. I hope it stays that way.

How exactly I was able to resolve the errors is not clear. I had used the ā€œNorton Remove and Reinstallerā€ at least 5 times via the offline program (version 22.23.10.10) and updated to 22.24.2.6 / 22.24.5.6 (often errors) / 22.24.7.8 via LiveUpdate.

A patch often had to be applied, but just as often it ran into errors. Eventually everything ran through without errors

Unfortunately, the error with the missing context menus remained. I posted my own post in the forum today

Greetings to all

Hi Jobaā€¦i hope this will be your last message from this issueā€¦it will mean that your pc is running fine at lastā€¦

i will keep my fingers crossedā€¦ :crossed_fingers:

Hi macoloco,

Unfortunately, this morning it started again with Autofix Sonar, behavior-based protection and all the other errors. After 4 days of no errors, I thought I was safe. Iā€™ve been struggling with the error since mid-February, and many of my fellow campaigners have probably given up.

Today I tried to install N360 several times again. But errors kept cropping up, no matter what I did.

And suddenly I had a different Norton on my PC, version 24. I probably used the Norton Remove and Reinstall tool too often, as it always generates an error message about Norton. Iā€™m now supposed to be a ā€œselectedā€ user who can use the latest version of N360. But I uninstalled it again, that was somehow too quick for me.

Iā€™m not sure whether I should install it in the future. Maybe itā€™s Nortonā€™s attempt to provide people with a stable version of their product with Windows 11. I need to read up on it properly first.

Hello community,

only version 22.23.10.10 from mid-February 2024 ran error-free on my Windows 11 PC. Since then, I have tried all possible ways to eliminate the error(s). At times, Norton support even got involved. Unfortunately, I never received any feedback as to whether the error recordings were useful in any way.

When I last used the Norton Remove and Reinstall tool, I was offered version 24, which I installed today.

The common errors have apparently been eliminated:

  • Sonar autofix
  • Behavior-based protection message
  • Alarm not working when behavior-based protection is switched off
  • No context menu in the taskbar and start menu programs
  • N360 could not be started at times (version: 22.24.5.6)

Unfortunately, the display in my account is not yet correct

Protection report in the account is not generated & warning symbol - Norton 360 for Windows - Norton

This topic can be closed from my side. :sunglasses:

Congratulations JOBA

im happy at last your N360 is working well

Hello my friend,

did your N360 survive the update from version 22.24.7.8 to version 22.24.8.36 without any damage? Did the old errors return? Or are you already using version 24?

There are still some ā€œfightingā€ here:

Greetings
