Being charged sales tax

Lifelock. Ever since Norton took over Lifelock I have been charged sales tax even though I am tax exempt. Sent a copy of my tax exempt card to Norton last month and this month I am still charged sales tax. I called again yesterday and was offered no satisfactory solution. I may have to cancel my account of several years. I am a 100% disabled military veteran.

I am a long term Lifelock member. Had no problem with taxes being charged until Norton took them over. Their condescending support rep acting like I don't know what I'm talking about infuriated me. I have filed illegal tax charges against several companies and have always won. In my state, 100% disabled veterans don't pay sales tax for anything, including internet sales. Norton is clearly wrong.

Sorry you could not get a better resolution.

Had you been using a Lifelock account before and not having to pay the tax? Or did you just start up this account?

Yes, I got contacted by a person that  said they absolutely must charge me sales tax. So I told them that I absolutely have to report them to my state tax commission so they can be fined or whatever. My state statutes allow no exceptions to my tax exempt status. Report has been sent to my state, and I am preparing to cancel my Lifelock account of several years. So be it.

I hope so too. Ofttimes, a company uses an escalation as a means of support workers passing the buck to no one whatsoever. I have two with a phone company from a month ago with no follow-up at all.

As no one in these forums can access account and payment details, I'll leave you, hoping my escalation gets someone to contact you.

I called the support number. They issued me a refund for the tax they charged me for last month.

And how did you get the initial contact with that support employee? Just trying to ensure that you were in contact with a genuine Norton Support channel.

Exactly, Sent to a support employee at their given email address.

I have escalated this issue for you.

How did you send a copy of your tax exempt card to Norton? Did you get the address from a Norton Support employee?
