I want to install NIS 2014 after using the removal tool to remove 2013. I did the check for new version in 2013 but paused the download. If I remove 2013 with the removal tool, will I be able to continue the new version download and install it or do I need to download another installation file instead?
bgc99, why did you remove the 2013 version ? Were you having problems with it ? If you still have it installed you can upgrade to the 2014 version aka V21, via the Check for new Version, when you right click on your tray icon. That will overinstall to v21, or you can use the Remove and Reinstall Tool, which will give you a fresh install.
Since you have aready uninstall NIS, log into your Norton Account and use the Download button and it will give you the latest version and will auto activate as it knows your key from your account.

One thing to remember is that if you use Identity Safe with a LOCAL vault, you may lose access to the local vault if you uninstall 2013 with the Norton Removal Tool. Just installing over the top should preserve the local vault for you.
Be sure you Export your ID Safe data just in case.
I'm still running 2013 and don't use identity safe. I planned to remove 2013 before installing 2014 because from past experience it seem like more problems arise when you try to upgrade ontop of an existing install vs doing a clean install.
I did the overinstall from Norton account and Check for updates about ten times now on a variety of OS-es and up till now without any problems.
It seems that this time for the V21 version the overinstall works fine.
To answer your original question : you will be fine to continue, as the dowloaded install-files are for a full install, with your key already included. So if you run NRT, it will install fine.
