The updates should be available to you quite soon to get to 16.7.2.11. Please continue to do live updates and it will ,eventually update your installation
It's just a matter of waiting for LiveUpdate to push the patch(es) out to you :-) You can read this thread for more information on the 2.11 patch and on which versions will get updated:
How long will it be before the 16.7 patch is pushed to everyone? I’m still on 16.5.0.135. And how will I know when I received it? Do I have to keep rebooting or will NIS09 ask me to reboot?

Hi car825,
There is unfortunately no fixed date with regard to the latest patch, which is being pushed out in controlled stages to everyone over the next days. You should be asked to reboot. You should be able to check the build/engine number in your Norton product by going to Help&Support and then to About.
You should also be able to see the engine folder under C:\Program Files\Norton Internet Security\Engine
In the meantime, please be patient and wait for LiveUpdate to do its thing ;-)

Just keep doing live updates and when you get it you should be asked to reboot. Check "View Summary" each time you get updates to see if there is any NIS Engine update.
That's all well and good, but I amhaving too many problems with NIS 2009 in my Win 7 RTM installation to install it until the new version is available for download.
Can we get an estimate of when this will be? I have now been losing time on my subscription for 2 weeks. Does Norton have any plans to make me whole in this respect?

Sorry, blegs38552, there is, according to the post I indicated above, no time set for when 1) customers will receive the patch via LiveUpdate and 2) when the installation packages in the Update Center will be updated to the latest version. All you can do is keep an eye on that post I mentioned and on the forum in general for an official announcement. You must be tired of hearing this - but please be patient, the Symantec team is working very hard on all these issues.

Is everything clear to you?

You may not be asked to reboot when you get the 2.11 download. I know I wasn't asked to reboot when I got the .10 or the .11 version. When I noticed the new engine was there, I knew to reboot. But I may not have been asked to reboot because I only got the engine part of .11 and not the branding or the mui part of 11.
This is total crap. I just downloaded setup.exe from Norton Update Center. I figured it’d give me 16.7.2.11 and what did it give me? 16.5.0.135 Now not only do I not have the latest build. I have an older version that has no support for Firefox. Symantec needs to come up with a better way to release build updates.
I agree with you. 16.5 causes a multitude of problems for Win 7 RTM. Strangely, I was able to download 16.7 on a Win 7 RC partition on the same PC and so far, do not seem to have any issues, although I don’t spend a lot of time in that partition anymore (use it mainly for testing things such as NIS that I do not trust to my primary O/S, which is Win 7 RTM).
Thought its worthwhile bringing this to your attention.
NIS 2010 is out. You can consider upgrading to NIS 2010 if you've not received the compatibility patch as of yet. If you have an active subscription to Norton Internet Security the you can update to the 2010 for FREE by visiting the Norton Update Center.
