Beta Renewal concern

First - A little while ago I got the popup notice that my sub was about to expire (1 day left it said - but actually it was scheduled to expire today, once the product checked in), and I gave it 3 tries which all failed to connect to the Symantec servers, so I canceled the attempt after the third time. Just to let you know that I was having trouble connecting to the renewal server.

 

Now, here is my concern. This happened the first time that I let the Beta expire, and it happened again today. The product subscription expires, but there is no notice to the user except for a red check mark in the tray icon. I don't know if this is just something that happens with the Beta, but when a subscription expires there needs to be some obvious indication of that. Something at least as obvious as the popup that told me I had one day left.

 

Any user could conceivably go for hours and not notice that red check mark in the tray. Seems very dangerous to me if the product protection stops working and there's no more indication of it than that tray icon.

 

Please make sure that the released product has a much more obvious notification of product expiration.
