Better instructions about installing Norton Internet Secuirity

The forum contains a link at top rightside about Top NIS Issues.  I visited there and looked at the instructions about prepararing the computer and installing Norton Internet Security 2010.  The "No" answer about the listed information leads to a contact&feeback website, but that particular page is not working right in the email link and I do not want to CHAT link to install anything here.

So let me ask this forum:

Why must we uninstall the Windows XP SP3 Firewall as part of the preparation process?  This seem inappropriate.  Why not disable it?  That firewall is supposed to come with Windows XP SP3.

At what point in the installation or preparation process must we connect to the internet?  (Wirelessly Broadband, in my case).

Here is another thing I do not understand.  Above  this message field into which I am writing this message, there is a "Post Message" lable, and a dull yellow box with a message, "You have autosaved content from May 9.  Load or Discard.  Is this the result of having briefly clicked on the CHAT link ?  Does this mean that something from the Symantec link partially uploaded something to this computer (which is not even the one to which I plan to install NIS 2010 because it already has a different Norton product)?

Some people, please clarify this stuff for me.
