Black screen and locked browser window with NIS 21.0.1.3 upgrade when logging in to bank account

After upgrading my computers to Norton Internet Security 21.0.1.3 from the previous version, I could no longer log in to my bank account and some of my credit cards.

 

During the log in process, I started getting a black screen with no way to even restart my browser, as it always locked up on me that I was unable to close the browser window even by using the Task Manager.

 

This was happening on 5 machines, some running Windows XP and others Windows 7.

 

I always back them up every week automatically, so I was able to restore them and have the previous version of NIS running again with no bank login problems, but what an experience that was!

 

By the way, this was happening with IE8 and IE10.

 

Is it OK to keep running the previous version of NIS, as far as security is concerned?
