Blocked access to all websites

After downloading Norton 360, my newly-purchased, immaculately refurbished HP Probook wasn't able to access any websites. Not walmart.com, intuit.com, not even norton.com. I tried diagnostics, which indicated connection and firewall issues. Stuff I'm not able to deal with. The four-page, shiny cardbook 'Getting Started' looks nice & easy. Downloading the software was very easy. I set up everything except the password vault. There was no warning 360 would turn my laptop into a paperweight. When I called Norton, the first tech told me I should have been aware if my laptop already had virus/security protection and removed it. How would I know to do this when this product is pitched as 101 level easy? I mentioned the laptop has Windows Defender, but she said that shouldn't be a problem. I asked her to tell me how to uninstall 360, which I did. Then I called the advanced tech line, and their software was down. Seeing all the issues people are posting, especially recurring issues, I don't think this software is worth the trouble it causes. I'd like my money back, but I noticed the heavily-discounted 1-year subscription is not returnable. I bought Norton because it popped up as I was buying the Probook from a known office supply store, and I thought it was the best protection.

I bought Norton [...] from a known office supply store, [...]

Your Norton 360 purchase was thru Norton direct sales or third-party reputable vendor.
Where do you see << heavily-discounted 1-year subscription is not returnable >>
The known office supply store says "not returnable"?
Maybe, not returnable to the office supply store.  IDK
Maybe, Norton 360 license key is multi-user key registered to the office supply store....meaning under their control.  IDK
Maybe, Norton 360 was bundle priced with Probook.  IDK
