Bogus Link sent to email for 'reset password' routine

I purchased this "Norton Internet Security"  trial software which was pre-installed on my computer.   After the purchase was complete I got a page which read: "purchase complete"  -- so they *did*  take the money...  but then it read: "the info (password / username) provided did not match our records, but you can login to make changes".      ???!!     I had never had a Norton account before then, so they should not have had anything in their records to begin with.....but regardless,  I decided to try signing in.  It rejected me, as expected.   So I tried the 'reset password' routine.   It sent an email link,  which was bogus.   I've tried clicking on numerous so-called "support" or "get help"  links on several pages......ALL BOGUS.   So now, here I am, having just sent my credit card & money to someone claiming to be Norton, but how do I know its even Norton??   So then I try updating my software just for kicks.. The update routine starts up and completes it fine,  then says:  "you now have 365 days.....etc"...and  "this software is available for up to 3 computers. Click Here to get help on how to install".   I click the link .....BOGUS.      I try to get help. In the middle of a live chat session (which took me forever to find)  and I'm presented with a page which says: "a rep will be with you shortly".   No wait estimated time given!   Am I to sit there for 2hours? 2 minutes?   Then after waiting for several minutes I gave up.  I went to close the window, and up pops the estimated wait time.   Kinda late guys.  So I start explaining to the rep what's going on,  and 'boom'...  I got knocked offline, once again,  with ATT's fabulous static-filled DSL.   But this isn't about ATT,   its about Norton's issues.  I regret purchasing this software -- not because of the software (because it seems to do a good job),  but because of Norton's  inability to run a tight ship in the customer service dept.   I am actually shocked that I was able to login to this forum and post.   Thanks Norton.
