I have a Windows 7 laptop my sister-in-law gave me to fix. I tried to load Norton to clean the system and out of no where during the install, I got the Blue screen of death and now the laptop will not even boot. It does post, but nothing else. I removed the HDD and scanned it from my computer. Norton found several virus including Boot.Tidserv on it. Norton could not remove Boot.Tidserv. I've read several posts on how to remove it, but they all assume the virus is on the C: or D: drive. In this case, it's on my N: drive and I can't seem to find a way to direct the removal to that drive. Can anyone help. Again, the laptop will NOT boot because of this virus (I believe). All other viruses have been removed. Thanks.
