Booting with Ghost 15 to Win7 64bit, can't find my C, my USB HD shown as C, so "target invalid"

Trying to restore Ghost 15 image for my C drive from my external USB drive to Windows 7 home premium.64 bit. When I boot with Ghost, my external USB drive shows as C, and my real C hard drive can't be found so the target drive shows as invalid. After reading some posts, I tried the "analyze" tab, but that can't see my C drive either. I used an older version of Ghost several times on an older computer with great success, so when I bought this computer in 2012 I also bought the then-current version of Ghost, which was 15.0. Now, the first time I need to restore, it can' see my C drive and Norton support tells me they don't support 15 any more. Have I wasted my money and given myself a false sense of security? Please help! i've lost admin access and really need to restore.
