On the 11th I found that when in Opera it kept coming up with adverts to the point where it became a great nuisance. I then had a page come up, apparently from Norton, that was in the Norton colours and had the correct logos. It said that there was a serious threat to my computer and I should immediately call a freephone number and not try to eliminate the threat myself. When I did, a gentleman with an Indian accent told me that he could fix that easily but I had to visit a certain website and give him control of my computer. When I asked him to answer my security question he said that he was not working for Norton but instructed by them to solve this problem. I said that I would speak to Norton myself. I then ran a full scan and found no threats. I decided to delete all program files dated 11th & 12th September. They all deleted except Browser + App. Norton scan said that this was not a threat I solved the problem by doing a restore before the 11th. Was this another scam? If it is then it's a very dangerous one. Anyone had the same?
