I downloaded Firefox3.6 on a friends PC, and it included My Web Search. I uninstalled, blocked cookies and something else in Chrome, and got back the non-hijacked version. I’ve read that AVs can’t detect these hijacks, but Norton doesn’t think MWS is a threat anyway. Another considers it a low-medium risk spyware tool, with 341 instances quarantined on another PC.
