Last night I was installing Norton's Internet Security 2009. It removed last year's version then installed the 2009 version. When it got to the 'activation' phase it could not connnect to Symantec. My Windows Xp PC could get email via outlook and IE was working but no go to symantec.
This Am tried to connect to Symantec to troubleshoot the issue. Anytime I type in a Nortan/symantec URL or via Google my browswers are redirected to 'thirdparty' websites. My laptop which I am on right now is not infected and I can use the browseers without any hijacking.
I ran a system scan via NIS 2009 and it says it is clean. Oh really!
I tried to transfer a couplethe free trials of Websoot and another virus protection software but the PC won't let it connect to the outside and complete the installation.
Any ideas how to clean up my desktop? pc
