Over the past 2 days, I've been having some puzzling issues with all my browsers(newest versions of IE, Firefox, and Chrome) and it only happens when I have Norton Internet Security installed. Sites will take much longer to load than normally. Images will sometimes load, sometimes load halfway and then disappear, and then sometimes will load half the image and the bottom half will look like it's scribbed out. About once in every 6 or 7 sites I visit I will get a blank page in which I have to press enter on the URL bar again and it will instantly appear. Sometimes sites have no formatting and the alignment is completely messed up.
The odd thing is it only happens when I have Norton Internet Security installed. It's currently version 20.1.1.2. If I disable all of it's features and reboot I still have the same trouble. If I completely uninstall it my browsers immediately begin working as they should. Sites load snapily, images load correctly, and there's never any formatting issues and I never get blank white web pages. The very second I install it again it immediately starts doing it again.
So what have I done already? I've flushed my DNS, reset my TCP/IP and winsock. I've completely uninstalled Norton, cleaned up the registry with CCleaner, rebooted, ran the Norton Removal Tool, rebooted, and reinstalled Norton only for the browsing issues to instantly start up again.
I've tried just about everything I can think of. The only anti-virus program I've ever had on my PC is Norton, so it's not conflicting programs. Is there anything else I can do? I'm getting to the point that I'm thinking about just keeping it uninstalled even though I have almost a full left year on my subscription.
