I don't know anything about BUDump but normally if you need to remove a Norton application that won't remove with Remove Programs in Windows or Uninstall on the application menu you should use the Norton Removal Tool that you can download from the Norton website.
Read carefully what it says -- it will remove all Norton applications listed and you cannot choose just to remove one. So if you have other Norton software installed make sure you have all the installation files/media.
Which version of N360 is it? V1 or V2? You can download V2 free and install it under your V1 KEY if that is what you have as long as your subscription is still valid.
Care to say why you are removing it -- a problem?
Thanks, huwyngr.
The removal tool appears to have worked.
My computer has slowed to a crawl, to the point where it's unusable. An IT friend of mine encouraged me to uninstall Norton 360 (version 1) and see if that helps. He also said getting it all off can be tricky so I want to make sure I get it all off my machine.

Well I am surprised that this thread has already been marked as resolved because sjmagain2 original problem with BUDUMP has not been answered or resolved.
For those not familiar with BUDUMP it is part of Symantec's recommended procedure for removing Norton 360 when add/remove programs fails. BUDUMP is downloaded from the Canadian ftp site as I recall. Budump normally is silent running; so to have an error is interesting and knowing why there is an error may indicate pre-exisitng or continuing problems with this machine. I am pleased that the contributor considers the matter resolved using Norton removal. Nevertheless, I consider it a fact, that Norton Removal Tool - whilst quite efficient - does NOT completely remove all traces of Norton on the machine.

If you have some unexpired subscription time on your N360 V1 why not install V2 which has been considerably improved? You can download it from the Norton website (look for Trial Version) and when you install it you can use your V1 KEY. Even if you do not have an unexpired subscription why not download the Trial Version and use it for the trial period (15 days)? If you are like what N360 does for you (some people prefer Norton Internet Security because they can tweak the settings in it a lot and they don't want the simple backup etc in N360)
Then you can decide if N360 is responsible for what you are experiencing or not -- there are a lot of possible causes of slowing down.
NRT will remove all practical traces but as happens with many software items even that will leave behind some information in the registry and in logs in case you install it again -- manufacturers like to make sure that you can't repeatedly uninstall and reinstall say a trial version to get around paying for it !
If you have absolutely no Norton utilities on your machine except N360 and you do decide to go another route, then look in Remove Programs and uninstall Live Update which is a separate application that is used by multiple Norton Products. But it won't affect you if all you are doing is seeing if cleaning N360 out solves your problem.
Hope that helps.

Nevertheless the designation "SOLVED" is made by the person with the problem, not by the person whose message it appears on.
Thanks for the comments on BUDUMP. It's not a utility I've come across before although there are plenty of documents referencing it on the Norton support site but I don't recollect seeing a Norton Staffer refer to it here as part of troubleshooting.
Given the problem as described, I myself would have done as she did and remove N360 and see if the problem disappeared. If it did then I would reinstall N360 and carry out an investigation and for that I can see BUDUMP could be useful but only if Norton asked for the file. I imagine it would not give much information to a user but if it does please correct me.
It's really rather odd because the Norton documents that some up in a search on their website for BUDUMP -- like this one -- don't tell you what to do with any results; just to run it ......
So I'll be interested in more details from you.
