NIS: 20.2.1.22
OS: XP SP3
WinRAR: 4.10
Bug:
When scanning WinRAR files created in a specific way (see details), Norton will generate an error: 3038,103. Norton then tries to locate an automated fix but is unsuccessful.
Details:
To reproduce this bug you create a password protected archive with filenames encrypted:
- Create a dummy file (anything.txt)
- Right-click on it and choose "WinRAR -> Add to archive" (assuming you have shell integration turned on)
- Select the "Advanced" tab
- Click "Set Password"
- Type a password and check "Encrypt Filenames" **
- Click "OK"
- Click "OK"
- Once finished, right-click the archive and scan it with Norton. The scan should cause an error
** If you repeat the above steps but skip step 5, the scan will be successful. Norton seems to be unable to cope with the encrypted filenames.
