Hi,
I have been using NIS 2012 from last one year with many problems. I have contacted support twice and my issues were not resolved. Finally I had to reformat my harddisk and install everything a fresh around a couple of months back. I am using HP Pavilion DV6 with Windows 7 x64 (with latest updates installed).
I have started getting problems from last one month again. First one being the NIS icon not sticking on the tray. It will be there at the time of system start and disappears inbetween. I have to run the application again to get the icon. Sometimes, running the application does not show the icon at all. In such a case, there is no way of accessing NIS but restart my laptop. Secondly, it shows there is a problem to fix, which is it needs to scan the computer. If I select Yes to scan, scan starts and terminates inbetween as if I have interrupted the scan.
So, I have decided to reinstall NIS. I was suggested to run NRnR.exe to cleanly uninstall and reinstall NIS. I ran it and it restarted my laptop. POOF my fingureprint recognizer is no longer working and my webcam also disappeared from Device Manager. Strange. I did not expect such a pathetic program from Norton which corrupts hardware drivers.
How do I recover from these issues?
Wishes,
Kiran
