Buyer Beware: Visa Rebate Cards

If you purchase Norton products with a 'rebate' in the form of a prepaid Visa debit card, be aware that:

1. You cannot convert the card to cash in any way, shape or form.

2. You cannot trade or sell the card - it has your name printed on the front.

3. You cannot use the card in a retail store if your purchase exceeds the stored value on the card - most merchant systems do not support more than one method of payment.

4. You cannot use the card online if your purchase price exceeds the stored value on the card - most online merchants do not allow you to pay the excess with a credit card. (This is typically allowed if you are using the merchant's own gift card.)

You can only use the 'rebate' card for a purchase that does not exceed the card's stored value. Unused stored value is not refunded in an way. And a monthly charge is applied after 6 months.

Caveat emptor!
