By passing Norton Family block

Hi, i have Norton Family time block set for my kids. However they bypass it on androids by simply tapping on "last used" button and tapping on icon of an app they want to use by using smart pop up view option. Despite Norton Block screen  in the background, they can use the app in pop up view... Disappointing. How can i prevent it? Thanks.

Welcome to Norton Family Forum.

From the backend logs, we see the device is missing few permissions. Could you kindly ensure that all the necessary permissions for Norton Family are enabled in the child’s device. Please refer to this document for assistance in this regard.

Please follow below steps to disable the 'Smart Popup view'

  • Tap on Settings
  • Tap on Advanced features
  • Tap on Smart pop-up view option
  • Toggle off the feature for all the applications

As an additional measure, please also block the “Settings” App in “App House Rules”. Kindly follow this document for the same.

Hello,

We have addressed this issue in our latest version (5.8.0.12).

We noticed that some of your Android devices do not have latest version of Norton Family.

Please update to latest version and check if this issue still exists.

Thanks for reaching out to the Norton Family forum.

During the curfew, apps will be blocked when viewed in both split-screen view as well as in pop-up view. Could you check if the Norton Family app has the Display over other Apps permission? Or you can go to the permissions screen on the Norton Family app and re-grant all the permissions if any was revoked.
