Recently, I was having troubles with the new NIS 2013. I since reverted back to NIS 2012. However, also recently (within the past month) I've noticed my disc occupancy skyrocketing; from approximately 25 GB used to 41 GB used.
So, I did a search for all files created within the past month, and ran across 8.67 GB worth of files in C:\Symlogs\Norton_WPP_Logs.
The files have names like, Norton_TraceSession01.etl, 02.etl, 03.etl, and so on, up to Norton_TraceSession20.etl. Again, the total of these 20 files is 7.25 GB!
I also see files in that folder named, _Boot_Norton_TraceSession01.etl through 20.etl. Those 20 files total 1.41 GB.
Can anyone tell me, (1) what are these files, (2) can I safely delete them, and (3) how can I prevent them from coming back if I do delete them--is there a Norton tool or program I used (such as SymNRA) that created them? Or, is this something NIS 2012 itself creates? (I don't remember NIS creating files like this at all.) Thank you for your help.
