C:/User/WinUserName/iexplore.exe Virus

I have come across something suspicious on my system that Norton Anti-Virus did not have an issue with, but I do.

One day in Processes on Task Manager I noticed "Matt.exe" which is my windows user name with a .exe at the end of it.  I followed up on the process and found that it was located in "C:/Users/Matt".  I went to the folder and noticed that this file did not exist there (even with hide files and folders off) and Matt.exe did not exist.  Unfortunately I noticed iexplore.exe there and this seemed not right at all!

I also noticed that Windows kept asking me if I wanted to run iexplore.exe (only if I thought it was from a trusted publisher).  I've declined.

The file has an author called Updatesofts.com and it seems to keep reinstalling iteself because the modified dates are always recent. I try and delete it and nothing happens!

Why isn't Norton picking up on it? Neither is Windows Defender!

Can someone please point me in the right direction towards a removal or what software would remove it.  I'm now worried about data & all the personal information I've been entering in webforms.

Trust this to happen just as I switched from Firerfox to IE8....
