Calculator Plus by Digitalchemy for Android marked as Malware

Norton Mobile Security just started marking Calculator Plus by Digitalchemy for Android as Malware.  I know this is incorrect as I've had both installed for well over a year and it's never reported it as Malware before.  The app has no permissions to access anything on my phone.

Norton/Symantec, please clear this problem up.

Hello again stylon.

Sorry to hear that this is not working.  I will try making some enquiries.. but do not hold your breath.  You could also try contacting the Norton Chat link which should get you directly in touch with Norton staff who may be able to advise how to get around this issue.

If I get any helpful information I will post it here, if you make any progress do let us know.

All the best.

Hi,

It says the link must result in the downloading of the file… I guess because the whole thing is automated and it needs the file to scan. That link doesn’t result in a file being downloaded - just takes you to a page where you can remotely initiate an install on your phone/tablet… How can anyone really submit a file for an app on their phone - it’s not the same as installing an exe on a PC.

Hi stylon.

You say that you cannot progress the false positive report as you cannot provide direct download link but as I see it the link you posted is just such a link.  Did you try posting that?

Hello,

I'm here to report the exact same issue with the same Calculator software. It is reported as 'Malware' during scheduled scans and the only option/recommendation given is to delete it. This is definitely not a risk warning that you get when looking at apps on the store.

I tried to submit a false positive report for Norton Mobile Security using that link above but it won't let me progress unless I either upload the installation file or provide a direct download link to the actual file... neither of which I can do as I installed it off the Google Play store on my phone.

Like the above user, I've been using it a long time and it's definitely not malware. Here is a link to its' Google Play page - hoping you are able to submit a false positive on our behalf. Seems to be geared up for PC submission only...?
