Calm Down Nortie

I got the "IMMOVABLE" 4 Alarm Fire NORTON STAY UP AD on my desktop. Just was away for 3 days. I had already done the Equifax thing to see if I was stolen with half of America's SSN, etc. Thankful, I wasn't, but WHY??? Did it take so long for Norton to REACT??? Yes for the additional SECURITY SUBSCRIPTION AD Lifelock. Not sure if they blanketed that AD OFFER for the $9.99 and up a month protection.

I tried to delete the NORTON STAY UP (VERSUS POP-UP) AD on my desktop. I went into the CONTROL, ALT, AND HIT DELETE method to bring up all apps or whatever that they system might be addressing. Norton Ad was there. I clicked END TASK. I tried it again. -- Yikes. Did I give Norton permission to prevent me from controlling my LAPTOP??? The same type of control Microsoft wants to capitalize with the new-user older generation and the naive, I know everything but feel that I must do nothing, younger generation. (Stupid views. I see and hear them everywhere from every age, color, gender, wealth, etc. Enough to throw up on someone about. But whatever. Let dead dogs lay dead.)

Do not relegate your mind or your technology know-how, permissions, privacy, and rights to PROFITEERS. They are not benevolent. They are companies made up of imperfect people trying to do right. and as we see with Equifax, there was a Snake, rather a Boa Constrictor, in the Hen House. Learn. Learn. Learn. Then Learn some more.

I complained about it to Norton in the Live Chat, and soon the AD on the laptop disappeared. Hmm? I am sure they did something. They have my IP Address, but then again, I might be too much in my own frustration, and the AD timed out. Not sure. I apologize for being frustrated.

It might be that the service and programmers, and customer service, customer relations groups at Norton are under the age of 30. The Generation Y which is boldfaced in their disdain and prejudice for anyone seemingly over 40 years of age. Their defiance and intolerance is pallatable. Yikes. Please diversify your workers so that you can reflect your customer population. By now, people in the Nursing Homes are online. If they worked for the government like me as a teenager, they have been on the computer before P was placed before the C. See. Ah well. :)

What you are probably seeing here is the Norton Product Tamper Protection protecting a Norton process. If you can stop a Norton process, so can malware.

From bjm_'s second link in his first post, did you look at the second post here. https://community.norton.com/en/comment/7432511#comment-7432511 Did you check that the setting for Special Offer Notification is off on your computer?

  • Norton Security provides comprehensive coverage to help secure your devices against a variety of potential cyber-attacks. But identity theft doesn't only happen online, or on your devices. It could happen when you give your credit card to a waiter at the neighborhood restaurant. It could happen if someone steals your mail. It could happen in form of medical ID theft in which all your data at your physician's computer is stolen.

LifeLock Identity Theft Protection leverages proprietary technology that scans millions of transactions every second looking for threats to your identity. You will be alerted if your data is found suspiciously used. And in case you have been a victim of identity theft, LifeLock provides U.S. based restoration specialists dedicated to your case from start to finish. The Service Guarantee provides for lawyers and experts if needed, to help resolve your case, as well as reimbursement for stolen funds up to the limit of your LifeLock membership.

Yo se Senor o Senora! La informacion es publico! -- Yo, I know. Please be sure to read the POST BEFORE RESPONDING. All people are different and therefore, each post is different and does not always demand a SIMPLE RESPONSE OF A LINK.

What would have been expected is??? This is how you can DISABLE MANDATORY POP-UP ADS that we send? Or... sorry, we found that most of our customers were emailing us and we GOSH didn't know what to do, so we resorted to an impersonal way of responding. Or... if these messages result from your system checking word content and then automatically being programmed to send a PAT ANSWER. That you might want to better diversify how that algorithm works.

But as is...as professional marketer, member program manager, donor communications specialists, and your urgent way of responding demonstrates a lack of understanding of your customer population. And it dwarfs my view of your ability to care for your customers. Yikes. I should expect this, since you are now international (for awhile I know), as Sandeep responded to the CHAT, but you don't invest in modifying your customer relations based on cultural context. Hmm? What to do? I know that it is a tough task and demands constant attention.

No problem. I get it. Thanks for at least trying to set up a customer relations system that could respond to customers, even though by rights, your system failed. Ah well... Take care!
