Can HP 8600 be causing invasion of Trojan.ADH.SMH?

Since installing a new HP OfficeJet Pro 8600, Auto-Protect has been telling it has blocked the Trojan.ADH.SMH.  This occurs from 1-4 times a day.  The printer is on a wireless network to the web.  Should I be more concerned about what might NOT be blocked?

Hi, Did not help me much as it did not seem to answer my why I am getting the messages.  The danger was listed as HIGH, but when looked up, the Troja... was labeled a low risk.  Confusing...

thanks...

Hi,

For this kind of problem Symantec advises the use of Norton Power Eraser.

It's not the exact detection but maybe similar.

Please see: http://www.symantec.com/security_response/writeup.jsp?docid=2013-090515-2042-99

Hope this helps,

Regards,

Hello

Rather than playing around with the Norton Power Eraser unless you are an expert malware remover, I would rather recommend that you visit one of the expert malware removers from one of the free malware removal sites. They will tell you the proper tools to use after they see what is on your computer as well as what could be attacking your computer. If you are getting this warning several times a day, then you should visit one of the free sites. Here is a listing of the free sites you could go to. Even if you don't have any malware, they can tell you that also and then you can have a clear mind that you don't have the malware.

Please go to one of these free Forums for help in removing your bad malware or rootkits.

(Thanks to Delph for providing the list of sites)

Please see this link for an up to date description of these sites plus the addition of a newly listed site formed by one of our successful malware remover users. The new site is listed first in this link.
