I have a laptop running windows vista. Windows has been warning me that the harddrive is failing for a couple of days and now the video card has gone out as well. While I wait for a replacement card I want to plug in my old hard drive into my esata hard drive reader on my desktop, create and save an image to my system drive and then plug in a new drive into the reader and restore the image. But I can't seem to figure out how to do this because norton creates 4 different files when I create the backup (the old drive has a recovery partition). Is there a thread out there (I can't seem to find one) that mentions the proper steps for doing this? I don't really want to save the recovery partition, just restore the system drive image to a new HD.
