I recently changed from Norton Internet Security and went back to Kaspersky and now seriously regret it. I want to come back to Norton !. I won't bother people by elaborating but KIS used to be a good product, at least the 2009 version was, it's now awful and so is the forum there. Just serious Rhino Balls bad !!.
My question is, can I buy an OEM version of the software and use the key, or should I just buy any previous version of NIS (slightly cheaper than latest version, usually) ?
I ask because the OEM version I have seen is cheapest but I might also be able to get a NIS 2009 for only slightly more (money very tight at the moment and I have already wasted money on lousy KIS).
OEM and System Builder versions cannot be legally sold as standalone products without the hardware for which they are intended. When licensing infractions are detected with an installed product, that product's key will be revoked and the product will become unusable. You are encouraged to buy a legitimate retail version of any Norton software, but be sure to purchase from a reputable dealer - many "too-good-to-be-true" selling prices are offered by sellers who illegally sell the separate activation seats of multiple-user licenses to more than one buyer (so your 3-PC license could already be activated, leaving you with only one activation and diminished subscription time remaining). Look for good deals, but make sure the offers are legitimate and that the product is intact and legal.
thanks for answers guys, and yes, I already have the KIS removal tool etc,
Great
You know where to find us if we can help.
If what you buy is a physical disk you may want to let us give you a link to the current downloadable version of NIS 2012 / V19 or NIS 2013 / V20 especially if you end up with a 2009 version! The downloadable file will be more uptodate than the disk for the same version since the disks are not updated over time.
