Can I close Norton 360 temporarily?

I'd like to shutdown Norton 360 v5  on Vista 64.  I have Cubase running and would like to try and close all other processes so I can isolate a problem with it.

I'd be closing Internet Explorer, Email and all other running programs prior to this.

I've had a look in this forum and online FAQs but can't see how to to this

Any help would be appreciated, ta

Gary

You can go to Services.msc, and then disable the Norton product service.

Click Start, and click Run.

In Run window, type services.msc , and then click Ok.

In the services window, find the Norton 360 service, right-click it, and then click Properties.

In the Startup type drop down, select Disable and then click Apply, and Ok.

Make sure that you enable the service after you complete your task.

I would not recommend this options.

1. This will unfortunately not stop all the Norton processes, only the two ccsvchst executables, and the other background processes will run uncontrolled.

2. It makes your computer vulnerable.

Thanks Cyberlife and PapauZ

If Cyberlife's method is not the correct way to close Norton PapauZ, then what is please?

For anyone wanting to do a similar thing that Cyberlife suggested I would just add that 'Run' is within the Accessories folder within the Start Menu and that to disable the service one would first have to go into Norton then select the Settings Menu and under the Quick Controls on the right, uncheck the Tamper Protection box.

I'll give it a try when I reboot the machine and see how it goes.

Unfortunately there's non, only an uninstall.

There are many components that will run even when you disable the load of the product. These parts are like drivers, and the service you can see manages them. So if you stop the N360 service those parts will still work, but not with "Norton's supervision".

okidoke - Thank you
