Can I reactivate NIS without my Norton account?

I uninstalled NIS 2010 and now I would like to reinstall it. I still have over 200 days on my subscription but the email address I used for my Norton account is no longer active. I do have my activation key #, if I download NIS 2011, is there a place to enter my activation key without going through my Norton account?

NIS 2011 should pick up your product key automatically since, even when you uninstall NIS 2010 (including with the Norton Removal Tool), the product key is intentionally left behind in case you install a Norton product of the same product category at a later point in time.

However, it is possible that you might be asked to provide your Norton account information (e-mail and password) when renewing your subscription (I am not quite sure about this), that way the renewed subscription can be registered. If you renew your product with a new product key, then you will definitely be asked to provide your Norton account information so that the new key can be registered.

 

Finally, it is strongly recommended that you have a Norton account at your disposal. If your e-mail address is no longer valid, then please contact Symantec Customer Service at the link below; you can chat with them for free at this link (for US and Canada):

They will help you update/set up your Norton account again with your new e-mail address; it should be quite straightforward.

The invalid email address does not have any effect on your account.  Your product information is still stored there under the previous address.  It could get to be a problem if you needed to access that account for some reason in the future after you had forgotten the previous address.  You want to maintain your access to the account as future product information will be stored there as well.
