Can I turn off Windows Firewall with Comcast Norton?

I am new to forum and have a simple question.  The Norton package I have through my Comcast INternet services indicates that Smart Firewall is active and working correctly.  Can I turn off Windows Firewall or is there any dependencies?  I am running Windows XP on my computer.  Thanks.

As Phil_D stated,  it is recommended that the Windows Firewall be turned OFF to prevent any conflicts.  I just checked my XP System and the Windows Firewall is turned off when I go the Control Panel, Windows Firewall Route.

When I go the Control Panel, Security Center, Firewall Route, it tells me that "At least one of the firewalls installed on this computer is currently ON."  Then states in a note that two or more firewalls running at the same time may cause conflict.

You are good with the Norton running and the Wondows off!  :smileyvery-happy:

Hello hastinbc

Usually when you install another program which has a fire wall in it, that program should turn off the Windows firewall automatically. Just like it is not good to run 2 antivirus programs, it is not good to run 2 firewalls either at the same time.
