Hello,
I have Norton Internet Security 2008 (it's a single PC license) running for nearly a year now so obviously it's time for me to get a new subscription. The product key sticker I have for it says it's a System Builder license. I have a Norton account asociated (I purposely had to omit the second 's' here due to the word filter mistaking it for something it's not) with my product key, and when I click "special offers" in the Norton account, in the bottom of the newly opened browser window (which features the upgrade version of NIS 2009), it says the following:
"You are eligible to purchase both upgrades and other Symantec products at up to a 40% savings! Please visit our Upgrade Center for details."
My understanding is that I can purchase and install the upgrade version of NIS 2009 as an upgrade for my existing license. But I want to make sure before I buy that I can actually use it.
If the answer is yes, my next question is regarding the fact that the NIS 2009 upgrade has a 3 household PCs license. I know the 3 PCs license uses one product key for all 3 PCs, but of-course it requires a product key from an existing Symantec product to work since it's an upgrade. Will it require 3 different existing keys, or does one existing key can be used for the upgrade on all the 3 PCs?
Another question, not necessarily just about the upgrade version of NIS 2009, is on reinstalling it (within the subscription duration of-course). From what I've already heard from Customer Service, reinstalling it on the same computer should work, even if the OS is reinstalled. What about a new computer? I plan on upgrading my computer sometime during the 1 year subscription time, so there will still be only 3 PCs using the NIS license, but one of them will be exchanged with a new PC. Will this work? Won't it give a message that I've used up all my 3 activations?
Thanks,
and StaySafe ;)
