Can Norton Utilies affect Quicken transaction downloads?

After I recently installed NU v 14.0xxxx on my XP Pro machine, one of my Quicken accounts stopped downloading transactions. I tried disabling the Quicken One Step Update for this account and reactivating it, but the account now will not reactivate One Step Update. The process stalls and stays on a dialogue that says "Updating Financial Institution Information ....." until I manually cancel it. This occurs with only one account (American Express). All other accounts continue to download as they did before.

Upon installing NU, I did run the "Clean Your Registry" and "Manage Your Services" and have since tried to restore changes made. I restored all the registry backups created by NU, but, since the problem persists, I am not sure the restoration was successful. Also, I have tried to use the XP System Restore to reset the XP services, but many times System Restore says it did not make changes to my system.

Is anyone aware of registry or service changes made by NU when running "Clean Your Registry" or "Manage Your Services" that might affect Quicken's ability to download transactions?

My suspicion is that the account ID and password are not being passed on correctly since I also tried to reactivate the account using a bogus ID and password, which produced the same results - stalling on "Updating financial instituion information ...". Is there a service or registry entry that might affect this?

I am working with both Quicken and AMEX on this issue and have posted a similar request on the MS XP networking newsgroup.

Thanks,

FYI, Norton Tech Support told me yesterday that the Removal Tool does not work with Norton Utilities.
