I ran LiveUpdate to install 22.8.0.50. I have Win 7.
I wasn’t able to run NIS after the install because there was the process NIS.EXE *32 already running.
I tried to end the NIS.EXE *32 process in TASK MANAGER but got the message:
UNABLE TO TERMINATE PROCESS
The operation could not be completed.
Access is denied.
I then downloaded the Norton Remove and Reinstall Tool and ran it.
Release 22.7.1.32 was installed and I ran the scan as part of the NRnR process.
The scan completed successfully and I quit NIS.
Now when I try to run NIS, nothing happens.
The NIS.EXE *32 process is active, which I assume is the problem?
I tried to run TASKKILL /IM NIS.EXE *32 /F but it doesn’t like the *32 as part of the command.
When I ran TASKKILL /IM NIS.EXE /F, it came back with these two messages:
ERROR: The process "NIS.EXE" with PID 3760 could not be terminated.
Reason: Access is denied.
ERROR: The process "NIS.EXE" with PID 3760 could not be terminated.
Reason: Access is denied.
So, do I have to end the 2 NIS.EXE processes or is there another problem?
