Can not verify site ownership for Norton Safe Web on our template site

Hello, I currently manage the website for www.balancehairspa.com.  I have registered them as the owner with Norton Safe Web, but am unable to complete the verification steps as this is a "template"-based website.  I do not have access to the root file and am unable to add a meta tag.  How can I proceed to have this site verified? Thanks!

hi ksimko,

If you not able to do both, then put the verification code in any one of  'balancehairspa.com' page and give the location here,

automatic verification cant work for you but the safe web team can manually verify your site after the verification you can remove the code from Your site

Hello ksimko and welcome!

I understand your issue.

An alternate method to verify ownership (without having the code visible to the public) is to add the Norton Safe Web authentication code to your keywords tag which I see you have in place.

Use your site building program to edit your keywords. Copy and paste the authentication code from your email registration, (the 128 character alphanumeric code) into your keywords tag on your main page. Be sure it is separated from the other entries with a comma.

Example: ....salon in Chester County, best spa, best hair salon , 1234-abcd-5678....(your unique 128 character code)

(Norton SW File Content is highlighted in blue text for this example)

Although this method will not allow for the automated verification, it should assist the Safe Web team in manually verifying your site.

Let me know when you have completed this step and I will check that the code is properly located.

Hi Phil_D,

Thank you so much for your helpful response! I have completed your recommendation by adding our authentication code to the keywords on our main page.

How should I proceed from here? Also, should I leave the code in our keywords permanently, or can I remove it upon verification?

Thank you again!

ksimko

Hi ksimko,

Your site ownership has been manually verified and your site 'http://www.balancehairspa.com/' has been submitted for analysis. Note that the initial evaluation process may take up to two weeks to complete.
