Does anyone have any suggestions on whether online Norton Security Scan can detect any keylogger program or not?

oem7110, I don't know about your question about Norton's but you may want to try the free version of SuperAntiSpyware. It is suppose to detect keyloggers. If you do have a keylogger, post a message back here and these good folks should be able to help you remove it. It would help also if you posted what your operating system was and what version of Norton's you are running. Good luck..

Norton Security Scan is based or reputatuon scan . As for keyloggers particually - it is the same with any malicious program .
For maximum protection , you should try the complete Norton program . Another free is Norton Power Eraser (google it)

I don't know why the previous post mentioned this tool so casually, but this quote comes directly from the Norton Rescue Tools Site:
"Because the Norton Power Eraser uses aggressive methods to detect these threats, there is a risk that it can select some legitimate programs for removal. You should use this tool very carefully, and only after you have exhausted other options."
This is NOT a normal maintenance tool and should not be considered if you are not having any problems.
Norton NIS / NAV / N360 detect keyloggers as "Spyware" so that the detections will have "Spyware.xxxxxxxx" say for instance "Spyware.KGBspy"
For a bit of information.
As for the Norton Power Eraser, I agree it should be as a last resort due to the Files that can show as False Positives etc. Other programs should be tried first.
