Cannot access Internet to uninstall Norton family on new laptop

This software used to work, but now it is an utter mess. Installed it on my sons new laptop, but it has blocked the whole Internet. When I try to uninstall it it asks for my login and tries to connect to the Internet, as I cannot access the Internet I cannot delete the software! This mess needs sorting out. When my various Norton accounts run out I will be looking to purchase other security software, not Nortons.

Hi, having similar problems. Managed to uninstall norton online family by restarting computer, press F8 and go into safe mode. This will enable you to uninstall without connecting to internet.

i have been on hold for 15 mins on the 0800 help phone line, re this matter!! what a joke!!!

Two laptops, one with Norton internet security one with kapersky, neither can access the internet after NF is installed.  So the fix for updating NIS won't work for the kapersky machine.  I'm currently updating NIS on the other to see if there is any change.

 

Had to roll back with system restore as I couldn't even unistall on the NIS laptop!

 

Poor encoding obvious supprt for Kapersky.  Could be a good product, but I'm glad I've not forked out money for it.

Right, if you have an older version of NIS, you need to update it so you can access internet for now.

 

For Kaspersky, could you let us know what version of Kaspersky you have?
