It is possible, yes.

I would advise you to Update your Virus  Definitions and Run a Full System Scan; let us know the Results.

Liveupdate could not be done because it cannot access symantec website.Norton has a red circle with a white X mark. Any other solutions?

If not already done so, inform us what things are At Risk?

Have you tried Running LiveUpdate?

I suspect that it is an Internet Threat.

Once this Issue has been Resolved, remember to keep you Product up-to-date with all the latest Patches because it sounds like, if it is an Internet Threat which I highly suspect it is, you have not kept that computer up-to-date.

If you are not using N.I.S. 2008, then I suggest you Upgarde to N.I.S. 2008.

Attempt to Run LiveUpdate from your Norton Program. If this does not work, Click: Start > Run... and type in luall > OK. If this does not work, from another computer, Access http://www.symantec.com/business/security_response/definitions.jsp and Click on Download Virus Definitions (Intelligent Updater Only); thenselect your Product and Click Download Updates. It is advised that you Download the Files on to a C.D. and then Insert that C.D. in to the "Infected" computer and Update the V.D.s that way and then Run a Full System Scan.

I read somewhere a long time ago that you could Upload the V.D.s on to a C.D., but this may have changed.
