Cannot connect to Norton server

Hi. Today my Acer laptop will not connect to either of the WiFi connections our household has. Our Mac products, which also have Norton 360, are connected to WiFi just fine. The message Cannot Connect to Norton Server is displayed. And while our two WiFi connections show very good reception on the Acer, it will not connect. I use Google Chrome if that’s relevant. Any ideas? Thank you.

Sorry for the delay. Busy with work. It is an Acer Aspire F5-573G.  Thanks again for your help, SA.

What is the model of the Acer laptop? I'd like to look at a few external things to hopefully come up with a common issue we can focus on and resolve.

Hi SA… I went through the various checks suggested by Microsoft, but still no luck. I will say that sometimes it connects for merely seconds and then disconnects. The modem has been rebooted twice with no luck. I’m actually on my iPad using the modem, so the modem is ok. Very frustrating, but I definitely appreciate your help.

Give these steps a go and let us know what your results are if you will. Make sure that somehow your devices have not been set in Airplane Mode.

Thank you, Peter. I tried turning the Norton VPN off but still am unable to access the internet. Any other suggestions to try?

If you have the VPN feature turned on, try turning it off to see if you can connect.

I found Smart Firewall and turned it off. I then rebooted and turned the Smart Firewall back on. No luck.

The screen grab you posted is exactly what I am getting, which I’ve never seen in the past. While it says “you’re connected to the internet”, I cannot open any sites. I tried accessing via Edge and that was a bust as well. I’m using Windows 10 Home. I’m unsure how to reset the Norton firewall. BTW, I’ve done all updates and restarted the computer several times. Thanks very much!

What is the OS on your devices that do not connect? Windows 10 will show you connected in settings as shown below, have you checked there? Does a different browser allow access to the internet? Have you reset your Norton firewall and restarted then rechecked?
