Cannot create custom scans or run custom scan on folders-NIS2009

Took me awhile to remember this, but I believe this will solve the problem.

 

Reboot your system and do the following:


1. Temporarily disable the WMI service (Windows management instrumentation) in: Start >Run > type: services.msc and in there find/stop WMI

2. Next delete the C:\windows\system32\wbem\repository folder's continents (do not delete the folder just the files inside; if there are any folders in the folder, leave them alone), wait for Windows to recreate the files (can take a bit of time, usually this takes around 10 ~ 15 minutes but I have seen it take 30+ minutes), be patient

3. When the files are rebuilt, restart the WMI service & restart the computer

 

After the reboot, start NIS2009 and try the Custom Scan | Folders.  Report the progress.  Thanks.

Still same issue after doing above.

Can someone at Symantec acknowledge this bug or provide info to fix… thanks.
