Cannot delete backup sets

Hi,

I have seen several threads on this previously, and it looks like I need some manual intervention to solve my problem.  Basically, I have multiple backup sets from which I can delete files, but I cannot delete the backup set itself; even when I delete all of the files, Norton 360 indicates that I am using up 2.5GB of space for that backup set!  This is causing me to go over my storage limit; I am unable to free up the space.

If someone on the forum has the capability to help me out by deleting the backup set(s), it would be much appreciated.  I have followed all of the recommendations of the threads I have seen and have utilized the online chat, but they have advised that this is a manual operation. If someone is willing to work with me I will PM them.  Thanks very much!

Hi Andy, welcome to the Norton Community :-)

Please send Tony_Weiss an e-mail (cf. his profile page) containing the following:

-description of your issue

-your Norton Account information

-Norton product version

-version of your operating system

Tony will help you delete your backup sets.

PS: Since it's the weekend, it might take a little time until you receive a reply - please be patient :-)

Hi Andy,

Please tell me how it goes :-)

Thanks for checking back, I'm currently waiting for a response from my PM.

If you have been waiting for more than 24 hours, please tell me, and I’ll try to get his attention ;-D

Hi Andy -

Any update?

Tony has been in contact, and I have provided the requested info. So hopefully I'll see things cleaned before long.

Thanks again for staying interested in my case!

I'm very glad to hear that things are moving :-) I was wondering if you had still not received a response. Please post back here to tell me if/when your issue has been solved for good :-)

Hi Andy,

How is it going? :-) Please keep me posted on your situation.

No change in my backup sets or word from Tony since I sent my info to him.  Thanks.

Tony is logged in but absent at the moment (time zones). Probably sleeping right now :-D We'll have to wait until he is up and running; if your backup sets haven't been deleted or if you don't hear from him within the next 7 or 8 hours, then I'll drop him a line ;-)

Sorry that this is taking so long. The names in red are usually busy as bees, and the time zone difference is rather impractical.

Thanks for your patience and for keeping me updated.

A quick update:  Tony messaged me, indicating that he had put in my request.  So now it’s presumably just a question of executing the delete operation.

Thanks for the news, Andy :-)

I actually PM-ed Tony nearly 24 hours ago to ask about the status of your issue, but he hasn't read my message yet, from the looks of it. Once again, thanks for your patience.

A quick update, early this morning my Norton 360 icon was green for a while, even though it was still reporting I was out of space.  This evening, I am back to red status and still out of space.  Don't know if anything is going on as far as the backup set delete operation goes.  Thanks.

Hi Andy,

Tony answered my PM saying that you and he are/were working on the issue - I hope your backup sets get deleted soon...Sorry that it's taking rather long, and once again, thanks for being so patient and keeping me posted :-)

It is best if you e-mail Tony to inform him about the (unchanged) status of your issue.

I’m having the same issue - several backup sets that I cannot remove, and now I’m out of space.  I have e-mailed Tony as per your instructions to Andy.  I’ll keep you posted.  Thanks!

Hi Lyonbear,

Hope Tony will respond soon - but it is the weekend, and it might take quite some time until he answers, so please hang on to your patience ;-D I'll keep an eye on you and atrice (the original poster of this thread).

He responded very quickly, and has submitted my delete request as of today.  Kudos to Tony!

Hi Lyonbear, glad to hear that your problem was solved - thanks for posting back.

Andy:

Have your backup sets been deleted in the meantime? Please keep me posted.

Yup, all set now.  Sorry it took me so long to respond.  Thanks for all your help during this process!
