Cannot disable Auto-Protect (Internet Security 2010)

I cannot disable Norton's Auto protect feature. It is grayed out when i right click the tray icon and the slider for it in settings seems to be greyed out as well.

 

I deal with many "shady" programs on my computer so I need to disable alot to avoid false positives.

 

Any ideas?
