Cannot log into Identity Safe

I have had NIS for years, and have never had a problem with it.  Today I tried to sign in and it won't accept my password.  When I click 'Show password hint', it doesn't give me a hint; it just comes up blank.  When as a last resort I tried to go ahead and reset Identity Safe, I get "Not able to reset profile".  I am at an absolute loss as to what to do.  I did find another post where someone else was having the same problem, but they said they found something in the NIS main window to set up Internet Security and that solved the problem; I can't find that option on mine.  Help!!!
