Cannot Recieve Email Since upgraded to Norton 360

I was using Norton Internet Security and I upgraded to Norton 360 6.0. My OS is Windows 7 and I'm using Outlook 2010. Ever since I upgarded I have been unable to recive incoming email messages. I can send out going messages. I did not have this problem with my Old Norton Internet Security.

My ISP is AT&T and when I try to retrieve my email I get an error message saying, Outlook cannot connect to your incoming (POP3) email server. I have following AT&T troubleshooting advice and it does not resolve the problem.

I have looked over the forum and find others having similair problems. If I cannot get this resolved can I get a refund and downgrade to regular Norton?

Thanks in advance.

I have downloaded the uninstaller and uninstalled Norton 360. I checked my email and was able to receive incomeing mail with Norton 360 uninstalled.

I reinstalled Norton 360, ran the live update til no more updates were available, rebooted, checked my email and I am not able to receive incoming email. I receive the following error message: Task ' reported error ()x80042108): 'Outlook cannot connect to your incoming (POP 3) e-mail server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server adminstrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'

Did you ever have another security program installed before your Norton products. If so, you might still have remnants of that installation that could conflict with Norton. If you did have this, you need to run the uninstall utility for that product.

See this post that is similar to your problem of pop3 setup.

In your account settings in Outlook, what ports are you using for outgoing and incoming email?

I had previously installed Avast free version when my Norton Internet Secuity expired. I removed it and installed Norton. I noticed there where some drivers left on the computer. I tried to uninstall and now I have a totally screwed up computer. Windows would not start. I could not restore, I had to totattly reformat my computer. I am very aggrevated at this point.

I reinstalled Norton 360 and I am in the process of installing some 20+ programs. I am trying to update Adobe Air and Norton 360 is blocking it. Is there anyway to turn off the blocking feature and let ME decide what to block as far as programs go.

When Norton blocks your installation, is there a pop up box that comes on screen? Is there a drop down list in that box that offers options? There should be an option to ignore that program.

For future reference, how did you remove Avast? You should have used the removal utility from Avast. Just using control panel or the uninstall routine that comes with Avast is not enough.
