This is an intermittent problem, which results in Norton Security apparently running, doing updates etc. but will not let me use Safe Identity because it is not sign in to the Symantec systems. On opening NS the signed in user does not appear and reads Sign In. If I click on this I get a request for my email address and password. I know it connects back to Symantec because it will reject a wrong password. After the correct password is entered pane with a rotating icon appears and then disappears with no valid or error status, and the user is still not signed in. In some cases, clicking on the Sign In has no effect. The usual solution is a reboot, but it seems to happening more often.
The PC is Win 7 Ultimate 64bit and kept up to update. It has had NS and NIS on it for many years, with no issues.
