Can't access one specific website

Up until a few days ago I was able to access www.sidereel.com and https://www.sidereel.com/users. I use this site daily and never had an issue before. Now, when I try to access the secure site I get a message that the website is unavailable (timed out) and the main site either gives the same message or never connects at all, depending on the browser. I've tried it in Chrome, Firefox, IE, and Opera. I'm able to access the site on my tablet using the same Internet connection with no issues. The reason I think it may be Norton is because the site will eventually load if I change the settings and access it through a free proxy server. However, that takes way too long to load to be a long-term solution. I've tried temporarily disabling various features in Norton and that doesn't help at all though.

Sidereel is supposed to be okay according to SafeWeb but is there somewhere in my Norton settings where I can specifically add this site to a whitelist and see if that helps? I've looked for one with no luck.

I appreciate any and all suggestions :)

I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 and Norton 360 24.4.0.40.

It seems to be just what the messages are saying. Those are browser messages, not Norton.

What is probably happenning if it is only one site you are having trouble with, is a temporary issue with any one of the many servers between your computer and the sidereel sites. I just tried and was able to access the main site.

I just checked the FAQs at the site and they mention a possible server issue.

Hi Mandi,

Can you please give us a try again? We learned that there was an issue for some people with tracked shows on the new servers, so we were actually closed and working on things for a bit today.

Have you already given http://v4.sidereel.com a test? This address may help if the issue is in the server address lookup (DNS)
.

Are you still having difficulties? If so, try rebooting your modem and router.

I've tried the link that Sidereel provided and still wasn't able to get through. I also just rebooted both my modem and router and no improvements. All other computers on the same network are able to access it just fine...just not our HTPC, which is the one we use it on all the time (of course :)) I double-checked and I don't have Parental Control enabled, so that's not the issue, but good thought!!

I was able to get the page to load very slowly by changing the settings on the HTPC and using a proxy server. What else besides the firewall would the proxy server be bypassing that would be allowing me to access the site? That's the only thing I know to check and why I keep thinking it's a Norton issue.

HTPCs are often left on 24/7.

Have you run Norton's LiveUpdate manually a few times, rebooting as necessary, until no updates are available.

Try clicking on Support - Get Support to run  Autofix to check your Norton installation and fix what it finds.

Restart the computer once more, and test again.
