I decided to try and set up N360 Backup for the first time and I must say it is not all that intuitive but that is another problem. I tried to set up a backup of my documents and some other files onto my D drive, the intention being that I would do a backup every day or so. I obviously ticked a few too many boxes because it was taking a fairly long time, 15 minutes or so, and when I checked the D Drive the folder was over 70GB and growing. At that time it was backing up some stuff from my D Drive to my D Drive and I was concerned that I was going to fill the drive to capacity so I aborted the backup. The next step before I start playing with it again is to delete the incomplete backup but now I am having a difficulty.
When I try via Explorer it tells me I don't have permission. I am logged on as the Administrator but I still can't delete them and in Norton I found the option on how to delete the backup files but not the folder. So I started the process of deteing the files and it is taking about 6 seconds per file to delete and there are over 92,000 files. At this rate it will only take 153 hours to delete all the files. So how can I quickly and easily delete everything, including the folder!
I have tried going into settings and unchecking both Backup and Backup Status Overlays and then I have done a restart of my computer. I have then switched autoprotect off but I still can't delete the files from Explorer and if I select the drive it gives me the option to delete but it takes as long to delete the files that way as well and if I try and delete the directory I get a message saying the directory is not empty.
edit Ok. I managed to delete the files and the folder by right clicking on the folder and selecting properties and then security and then editing it to give myself permission to delete the folder and files. Now all I have is when I select My Computer it lists the Norton Backup Drive under Other. How can I delete this link?
