On NIS 2010 Netbook Edition with Vista Premium Home Edition, I originally scheduled a full system scan to run daily at 11 a.m. Later I wanted to change it to run at 5 a.m. So I used Computer Scans-> Configure -> Scheduled Scans to try to delete the 5 a.m. scan but couldn't. So I scheduled a new job to run at the earlier time.
However, both are now running. I can find the 5 a.m. scan and delete it but even with the show multiple scans box checked, the old 11 a.m. scan does not show - so there is no way to cancel it within NIS. Checking Windows Scheduler, the only job showing on the Symantec listing (it's separate from the Windows listings) is a daily run of Symantec Error Processor. (more on that later)
IOW, not even the 5 a.m. scan that NIS recognizes shows on the Symantec tab of Windows Scheduler. So I can't delete either the 5 a.m. or the mysteriously persistent 11 a.m. scan in Windows Scheduler, either.
How can I kill the 11 a.m. scan?
I don't know whether this is relevant, but looking at the Symantec Error Processor job in Windows Scheduler, the History tab shows that this task usually runs on or about its scheduled time - but also several more times a day with no pattern I can see. The Trigger Event tab only lists a trigger to run at 7 p.m. every day. But the History shows starts at all hours, sometimes simply listed as "Action started," sometimes as "Task triggered by user" where some of them (like 4 a.m.) I'm 99% sure I wasn't using my computer. What events besides the time trigger would cause this? Is this anything to be concerned about or looked into?
