I've just upgraded IE10 to IE11 on Windows 7. I now can't download email attachments. It worked fine in IE10. Now when I click on "download attachment" N360 does it's scan as normal, but I no longer get a a little window that prompts me to save the file. Once the scan is done nothing happens.

Hi,
Have you rechecked your settings in IE? The update/grade could have changed things
Keep us posted
I've check Options in IE11 and other settings - everything seems fine. Tried turning off Pop-Up Blocker - didn't work.
I now think this might be a problem with Yahoo7Mail as they use Norton to check email and attachments. They don't have email tech support ?! So I posted a message on their community forum. So I'll wait and see.
As I said I didn't have this problem in IE10 - only after I installed IE11. Guess they haven't updated there mail system yet.
Have you tried Compatibility Mode?
Open IE11 and navigate to Yahoo7Mail site. Click the gear icon on the top right hand corner and look for Compatibility View Settings and add the site to the list. Now try what you were doing again.
Let us know how you get on.
Yes I have tried compatibility mode and that didn't work either.
Hi, antmck2011. Have you disabled Enhanced Protected Mode in IE 11 ?
Microsoft has recently issued a patch to disable it as the default, due to an incompatibility.
Try also disabling Smart Filter in IE, and see if that helps.
Last resort, you can uninstall IE 11 and revert to IE 10, via the M/S site.

My last suggestion would be to temporarily try with another browser, like Firefox or Chrome.
I tried Enhanced Protected Mode and smart filter - nothing.
I do know that Yahoo has recently changed a lot of things in the way that Mail operates.
As Krusty13 mentioned trying it with other browsers, does it still occur ?
I found an old tablet running IE9. Took forever to boot up (that's why I stopped using it). Email attachments works fine on that. So it's definately an IE11 prob. Back on my main computer (desktop) I'm using compatibility mode with yahoo.com as their sites seem to load better. Still can't get attachments to work. Now at the top of the page is a message to upgrade to IE9. Anyway to get IE11 to work as IE9 or 10?
I found this info on IE 11 changes. I think it might be a while until M/S gets its act together re usability.
In the meantime, it might be worth reverting to IE10, if you don't want to wait.
I found a work around for this. If I go into mail settings and select basic mode then I download the attachment. When I switch back to the full lastest version of Yahoo7Mail, attachments still work, but only until I close IE. If I open IE11 and go to mail I need to go back to basic mode??!!
Looks like this wasn't a N360 prob after all. The Norton logo on email confused me. I'd had N360 ever since version 1.0.
Anyway thanks for the help.
Hi All,
Perhaps a bit off topic, but somehting I stumbled upon over the weekend that I was not aware of and although this concerns Windows Live Mail, I am curous if perhaps it may apply to other mail clients as well when it comes to attachments?

Sorry for the interuption - not trying to hijack the thread antmck2011.
Interesting. Not sure if Yahoo7Mail blocks some files or not. The specific file I was trying to look at was a PDF and I know they didn't block those before. If they suddenly started that I'd say right that's I'm off and not using Yahoo again. I get my bills this way - really need to see them. In any case I found a temp work around using basic mode - until they get around to actually fix this... one day.
I have a version of yahoo mail that is rebranded by my ISP. Having the same problem downloading and opening attachments, both pdf and txt. I can't see where to switch to the basic version of email as suggested above. The help desk at my ISP is of no help.
Are there any other ways to switch to a basic version of email or otherwise be able to open and download attachments?
Thanks!
On mine there's a cog in the top right corner. Click on that then Mail Options, then scroll to the bottom and select Basic then click the Save button at the top.
Thanks, Antmck. The issue "magically" resolved itself. Run Norton 360 update a few times and hopefully you'll have the same luck.
Just ran Live Update and now my attachments are working too??? Don't know if this is now permanently fixed or not.
Odd. N360 just keeps itself update anyway. The last update was 12 minutes earlier. Now I don't know if this IS a N360 problem or not.
I can no longer open attachments in yahoo email (tried pdf and txt) on my Windows 7, IE 11, Norton 360 computer. Interestingly, my Windows 8.1 computer (also IE 11 and Norton 360) opens attachments just fine. Also, if I forward messages using my Windows 7 computer to Hotmail, the attachments will open in Hotmail (but still not in yahoo email). Any suggestions? I've tried solutions offered in other threads, all to no avail.

This could be a Yahoo mail problem. Another user had issues with receiving emails with the Yahoo mail system. Moved to Gmail and all worked fine again.
