My son's computer (Vista, 32-bit), with NIS, has had some hard drive issues, so using Capser 5.0, we cloned it to a brand-new hard drive. It booted up just fine, and everything is working correctly except for NIS.
The icon in the system tray has the little red x in it, and when we open it up, it says that "Intrusion Prevention" is turned off. I recall some issues with Norton products when using Casper last year, which were solved by simply doing a LiveUpdate. This completed successfully, but the red x remained.
If we go to NIS Settings, where Intrusion Prevention is shown as being off, then click the radio button to turn it on, hit apply, hit ok, etc., nothing changes. No error messages, but Intrusion Prevention remains turned off.
I have contacted Casper tech support about this as well, as it isn't clear which is causing the problem, but in case it's primarily a Norton issue, wanted to get some input here.
AFAIK, this problem didn't exist on his computer before cloning with Casper. I've done a search for this problem on this forum, but can't find a definitive answer on how to correct this.
Thanks.
